Zero Tolerance- Creating safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces for women from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds

Aim

Prevent workplace sexual harassment for women from migrant and refugee backgrounds by raising awareness, by reducing barriers to reporting and by providing more responsive options for supporting workers who experience sexual harassment at work.

Activities

• Establish an online information hub specialised in support and referrals for migrant and refugee victims of sexual harassment, service to be coordinated by MSCWA. The Information Hub will provide safe and accurate information about sexual harassment at workplace through our website to all members of the CaLD communities.

• Promote resources such as multilingual brochures/posters to support businesses and industries that tend to employ a large number of migrant workers, especially temporary workers.

• Work jointly with legal experts/training providers to train staff of MSCWA and 30 trainers from various ethnic backgrounds to deliver information on workers’ rights, on workplace sexual harassment, as well as to monitor and evaluate these programs. MSCWA will partner with Sentrient who will provide an online compliance training program – a set of legally compliant training courses that are kept up to date with legislation for all States and Territories in Australia. The compliance training program includes online compliance courses for work health and safety, privacy, workplace bullying, sexual harassment, equal employment opportunity, and the appropriate use of the internet and social media.
